Cage and Norm Golightly are producing through Saturn Films along with Smith and James Lassiter at Overbrook Entertainment.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cage had been anxious to work with Smith when "Time Share" came along. Both actors liked what they heard and signed on to the project.

Cage and Smith learn to Share 6-13-05 Now this should make for an interesting two-hander. Action lads Will Smith and Nicolas Cage are set to co-star and produce "Time Share", based on a pitch by Mark Steilen, says Variety.
The comedy centres on two Dad's who go head to head when they discover that both their respective families are booked into the same time share accomodation at the same time. Producing are Cage and Norm Golightly's Saturn Films, Smith and James Lassiter's Overbrook Entertainment, and John J. Strauss and Eric Tannenbaum.
"Time Share" is set up at Columbia.

Oscar-winning actor Cage and Smith will also produce the Columbia Pictures film Time Share, about two fathers who clash after finding their families double-booked into the same holiday home, Daily Variety said.
The film is based on a script by Mark Steilen that the studio bought for $US1.5 million and will be produced by the productions companies of Cage and Smith. Men in Black star Smith recently starred in and produced Columbia's comedy Hitch about a dating consultant, while Cage will next be seen in Paramount Pictures' The Weather Man.

One just wrapped his first role as a superhero, the other is used to being a box-office man of steel. Together, Nicolas Cage and Will Smith hope their vacation clash translates into laughs in "Time Share."

No director or supporting cast has been announced yet for "Time Share."

Nicolas Cageand Will Smith are attached to star in and produce "Time Share," a comedy about two fathers who lock horns when they discover their families are booked into the same time share on what should have been their dream vacation.
The Columbia Pictures project is based on a pitch by Mark Steilen, who will receive a payday of about $1.5 million if the project is produced. Cage, coming off the biggest film of his career with "National Treasure," had been itching to do a project with Smith, and the two quickly fell for the idea. He has wrapped Columbia's "Ghost Rider" and next films "The Wicker Man" for director Neil LaBute. He next stars in Paramount's "The Weather Man." Smith most recently starred in Columbia's "Hitch."
